Having taught English for years I never thought I’d be translating what the narcissist says to other people.

I’ve spent four years researching the world of narcissism, through work, dating and personal interviews. My mission is to help others recognize narcissism and through this recognition stop the narcissistic cycle from continuing.

Narcissism Glossary

Narcissistic Vagueness

The way the narcissist says nothing in response to your questions. When you ask, ‘What are you doing tonight?’ and he responds with, ‘Don’t know,’ or We’ll see.’ Or maybe he just deliberately never talks about what he’s doing. This new level of vague will contrast completely with the open, caring man he was in the beginning of the relationship when he seemed like he was capable of sharing all of his emotions.

For example:
The narcissist sends you a text. It’s a photo of a beautiful meal he’s eating. He doesn’t tell you where he is or who he’s with and when he responds to your text hours later, he simply says,’friends.’.

Now you know you’ll look insane if you insist on knowing and he knows it too. So, you play the role of cool girlfriend who trusts him, even though your gut is screaming at you that something isn’t right about this behavior.

Hint: If you want to have a bit of fun, try the same trick with the narcissist. But be warned, you’ll get a silent treatment for it afterwards… Read those two sentences again. Does this seem like a healthy relationship to you?
