Having taught English for years I never thought I’d be translating what the narcissist says to other people.

I’ve spent four years researching the world of narcissism, through work, dating and personal interviews. My mission is to help others recognize narcissism and through this recognition stop the narcissistic cycle from continuing.

Energy Transference

The way the narcissist seems to suck the energy right out of you. In a way it’s like the beginning of the relationship with all of the compliments. It’s like fattening up a pig before the slaughter except the food on the plate is your energy. Think about how high your energy was in the beginning of the relationship, how gorgeous you felt, how brilliant. Your energy probably could have powered a small city and then the narcissist began the insults and the subtle meanness.

For Example:
‘You’re wearing that?’

‘You look ‘natural’ today.’

‘My ex had such a beautiful smile.’ (Before he always talked about your beautiful smile.)

And that’s how it starts. You’ll feel your energy deplete.

Maybe you turn to chocolate or ice cream to get the high you’d gotten used to. But it isn’t just that he’s taking your normal energy. By pushing you so high in the beginning the difference from where you were to where you are now is a much more significant drop than it would have been without the love bombing and the narcissist knows it. And for him it feels delicious .

Hint: He’s using all of your lovely energy to fuel himself so he can find the next target to fuel him because your energy is dropping rapidly. There’s a reason narcissists are called vampires, but instead of blood they steal energy.
